Even though Christmas is 1 week away, I’m just not feeling that festive this year. Christmas is a big deal in my family because we have a lot of traditions and the day (well, the season) is centred around spending time with loved ones. Although our tree is up and decorated, our Christmas lights around the house are turned on, I’ve seen Christmas With The Kranks/ Love Actually/ Elf a couple dozen times, and my Christmas shopping has been completed, I’m still feeling very Grinch-like.
To get me more in the holiday spirit, for day 5 of The 12 Days of Blog-mas, I thought that it would be fun to fill out the Christmas Tag. I saw the Christmas Tag floating around YouTube and decided to write out my answers instead. Let’s get started!
1.What’s your favorite holiday movie?
My all time favorite holiday movie is Love Actually! I watch it at least once every single year and I love how all the characters are somehow linked to one another.
2. Whats your favorite Christmas color?
My favorite color in general is red, so I suppose that also works for this question.
3. Do you like to stay in your PJs or dress up for Christmas?
Christmas morning is spent at my parents’ house, so I usually stay in my PJs. Christmas afternoon and evening are spent at my family members’ house, so I change into an ugly Christmas sweater.
4. If you could only buy one person a present this year, who would it be?
The lucky recipient would definitely be my mom because… she’s my mom and I love her very much!
5. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or morning?
We always open our presents on Christmas morning.
6. Have you ever built a gingerbread house?
Yes, I build one every year! This year my friends and I built a Christmas Gingerbread Village.
7. What do you like to do during Christmas break?
Usually I’m working during Christmas break, but this year I have 0 work and 0 school commitments. I’m planning to spend time with my friends and family who are in town for Christmas.
8. Any Christmas wishes?
I wish that everyone has a happy and safe Christmas and New Year.
9. Favorite Christmas Smell?
I love, love, LOVE the smell of gingerbread and peppermint.
10. Favorite Christmas meal or treat?
My favorite Christmas dish at dinner would be turkey (we always make 2) and my favorite Christmas treat is a gingerbread man!
11. What’s your favorite holiday drink?
I used to be a big fan of the Starbucks gingerbread latte, but now I prefer their peppermint mocha. That being said, I’ve only had 1 this season so far, which is very unlike me.
12. Candy cane or Gingerbread man?
Gingerbread man!
13. What’s your favorite holiday/Christmas song?
I used to be in a choir (even though I’m tone deaf) and my favorite song to sing was Good King Wenceslas.
14. What’s the weirdest gift you’ve ever received?
The weirdest gift that I’ve ever received is a pair of metal bookends. It has now been a running joke in my family for 13 years.
15. Have you ever made a snowman?
Whenever I see snow, I always make a snowman!
16. What is your favorite winter fragrance?
The fragrance that I associate with winter is Daisy by Marc Jacobs. In my freshman and sophomore year of college I used to wear it religiously.
17. What is at the top of your list this Christmas?
I don’t make Christmas lists, but since my birthday happens in the same month, my mom usually asks me what I want. I told my mom that anything from Lululemon or Nike is much appreciated. Oh and I also asked for Chipotle gift cards.
If you do the Christmas Tag on your blog or YouTube channel, link me to it in the comment section down below because I would love to read/listen to your answers.
Keep smiling,
Kels
