My Planner Supplies Storage: Travelon Mesh Pouches

Last week while I was shopping at Marshalls for OPI nail polishes (everyone knows that they have the best nail polish deals!), I came across a set of 3 rainbow striped mesh bags by Travelon. I had never heard of the brand before seeing them in the store, but the bright colors definitely caught my eye and I figured that I could always use a bag set, whether it be for travelling, makeup storage, or something else.

The set was on clearance for $6.99 regular $14.00, so I popped them in my shopping cart, paid, and went home (sans nail polish). As soon as I got home, a lightbulb went off in my head and I got the bright idea that I would use the big bag as an A5 Filofax carrying case, the medium bag to store sticker sheets, and the small bag to store rolls of washi tape. Since patent leather Filofaxes are prone to scratches and dents and my stickers and washi tape rolls were cluttering up my office desk (at the time), I knew was the perfect solution!

Over the past few weeks I had been searching on Etsy for an A5 Filofax cover, but I didn’t find one that fit my criteria. The large Travelon case was almost exactly what I was looking for because it perfectly fits my A5 Filofax width wise, it has a zippered enclosure so I can hold other things in it such as sticky notes and extra highlighters, and it didn’t add any extra bulk. Since it’s made out of mesh it isn’t waterproof, but it’s not like I’ll be carrying the bag and planner as is, so it will do a good job preventing future cover scratches from the contents of my bag.

The medium bag can hold my compact Calipso Filofax, but since it’s big enough width and length wise to hold my sticker sheets, what’s what I’m currently using it for. I don’t have many sticker sheets at the moment, but this bag can expand to hold a sicker collection 10 times the size of mine and possibly more. Now I can carry my stickers with me and scrapbook on the go!

Before buying these bags I was storing half of my washi tape collection in a carrying tube that I got at Michaels and the other half in a Ziploc plastic bag. Now all my washi tape rolls can be stored in the same place and I won’t have to spend extra time hunting for the one washi tape roll that fits my project’s needs. Sure I’m going to have to think of another storage situation as my washi tape collection grows, but for now the smallest Tavelon bag works! Also, in the future I plan to use this small bag as a pencil case to hold my pens, pencils, glue stick, correction tape, and sticky notes.

These bags feel sturdy and will probably last for the next few years. Because the entire set of 3 was only $6.99, I’m not too concerned about each bag’s longevity or if I get them dirty. I’m still going to be on the lookout for a colorful, waterproof carrying case for my A5 Filofax, but for now these bags work for what I’m using them for, so I’m pretty happy!
