Today’s blog post theme is all about challenging yourself. I’m the type of person who likes to set realistic, time-sensitive goals and then work very hard (no matter what the sacrifices may be) to accomplished them. I’m a goal oriented person inside and outside of the gym, and I’ve found that having this mindset helps me push myself to the best of my abilities. Sure at times it can impact me negatively since my goal can consume me, but as I grow older, I understand how to balance things a bit better.
To switch things up from time to time in the gym, my trainer likes to throw workout challenges into my daily workouts. It’s always nice to work through a challenge day by day, tick off what I’ve completed, and at the end, see the results. In January (or was it February? I honestly can’t remember the exact month, but it was some time early last year), my trainer and I did the squat challenge and my goodness, was it EVER a workout! We completed the entire challenge using just our body weight and vowed to do it again at the end of the year.
Well, the time has come to attempt it a second time! This time around I’ve decided to challenge my readers to do it with us. You don’t need a gym membership or any gym equipment (although you could do the squats with a dumbbell); all you need is some willpower and determination!
For the next 30 days, most likely every 5 days, I’ll be posting blog updates on my progress. To learn how to squat properly, check out this website.
